Hey, Friends! It’s been slow over here on the blog as we have been soaking up the lazy summer days! It is so nice to get a break from the busy schedules and get to just relax and enjoy time together!
I joined up with my blogging friends to bring you another Room by Room Summer Showcase! Over the summer, we will be touring different rooms of our home for you all, so be sure to click around to the other amazing rooms linked below! For our first week, we are showing you our living rooms! Big thanks to My Life from Home for hosting this bloghop!
We gave our living room an overhaul a couple years ago, so honestly, nothing major changes from year to year, just lots of little tweaks. I love to change out our mantel and shelf decor, but the big stuff stays the same. You can see the living room before and after here.
The built-in is still one of my favorite things Jeremy has built! He did such a good job! I’ve been loving displaying my sea glass on it lately!
And, of course, some of the sea glass ended up on the mantel! #obsessed
Speaking of fireplaces, did you know that you need to have your fireplace cleaned every year? These former Floridians had no idea! Granted, we have barely used this fireplace in the 6 years we have lived here because we’ve had small kids with too easy access… But still, we didn’t realize just how dusty the fan and the inside were, not to mention how cloudy the glass had gotten. We had only had it cleaned one other time! Whoops! Well, now that our kids are getting older, at least it’s clean and ready for use this winter! Look at that shiny glass front! 😉
This sign I painted is still one of our favorite pieces of artwork! Click here for the sign tutorial and click here to see how we framed and hung it!
The buttons on our previous pillows kept coming off, so I finally swapped them out over the winter for these velvet pillows from World Market. I need to sew all the buttons back on the old pillows, though, so I can switch them back for summer!
The Haverty’s Corey sectional is still holding up well! Irritatingly, it does still pill, so we use our trusty fabric shaver to remove all the pills. But, pilling aside, the couch is very comfy and still looking nice! You can see more details on how we remove the pilling here!
This poor chair is starting to show all the love and attention it gets! It gets the most use and is in need of an upholstery cleaning! 😉 I still absolutely LOVE this chair, though!
The little driftwood mirror on the wall is one of my favorite crafts of all time! It ties in with the wood tone in the lamps really well and I just love the style!
Be sure to check out the other gorgeous rooms below! Have you changed up your living rooms for summer?
