It’s been forever and a decade since I’ve done a Five on Friday post! Time to remedy that! Every now and then, I like to break from the usual projects to tell you about random things I’m loving. It’s like hanging out with friends! Here’s what’s been on my mind…
-Makeup- I am SO not a fashionista, but I have been trying to update my archaic makeup collection the last couple years. I discovered the brand Tarte a couple years ago and fell in love with their Amazonian Clay line. I have been slowly updating my makeup and love their brushes, powder foundation, concealer stick, and BB Cream (so silky soft)! It’s one of the few makeup brands that doesn’t upset my super sensitive skin. Worth every penny! On the drugstore end, I’ve been loving the Rimmel Match Perfect concealer + highlighter layered on top of my Tarte concealer. It really brightens up my eye area!
–Stitch Fix– Speaking of not being a fashionista, my wardrobe over the summer disolved into a rotation of baggy t-shirts and ugly shorts. It’s pretty embarrassing. I’ve been wanting to try Stitch Fix for forever, but am super cheap and was worried that everything would be too pricey. I mean, if I have an extra dollar, I will choose to spend it on my house vs my clothes every time. Ha! But, I finally broke down and ordered a box to try to update my wardrobe and branch out a bit. I’m hoping for some kind of fashion miracle to take place when it arrives. 😉 Would you like to see what I get? Here’s some of my favorite fall looks. You can also see my Pinterest clothing board here.

-YouTube- I’ve really gotten into watching YouTube videos the past six months to a year. We don’t have cable, so it’s my version of TV. My favorite YouTubers are What’s Up Moms, Robeson Design (I especially love her What Would Rebecca Do series…and all her wise cracks!), Do it on a Dime, RachhLoves, Entertaining with Beth, and The Small Things Blog (another NC blogger!). Check them out! Here is one of my favorite recipes from Entertainting with Beth!
-Pumpkins- You guys!!! It’s the start of my favorite time of year–pumpkin time!!! I can’t wait to grab a Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks, stock up on all things pumpkin cupcake scented at Bath and Body Works, and buy all.the.pumpkin things at Trader Joes! Trader Joes pumpkin pancake mix and pumpkin coffee are my favorites! And don’t even get me started on fall decorating! I’ve already started pulling things out!

–Boo Boo Buddies– We have had a gel Elmo ice pack for injuries for a while, but the kids wouldn’t use it because it was “too cold”. My friend Cary is known for making well thought out and researched purchases and a while back when one of my kids bonked their heads, she pulled out a gel ice pack that had a soft fabric around it. The fabric made it the perfect temperature and bonus points–it looked like an animal. Genius! I finally got one for the kids and they love it! I ended up ordering a second one so now both kids have their own. I didn’t think two was necessary, but when Little Man gets hurt, Little Girlie will reenact his injury and claim to be hurt just to get a turn with the beloved ice pack. Haha! We have this one and think this one is so cute, too!
What have you been loving lately? Hope you have a great holiday weekend! I’ll be back Tuesday with a fall craft!
