To my Texas readers, my thoughts and prayers are with you! For those located outside the storm path that are interested in donating to hurricane relief, there is a great list of charities listed {HERE}.
Hey, Friends! Geesh, it’s been a while! I took a couple weeks off of blogging to enjoy the end of summer break with my kids and to try to hold my head above water with our bathroom renovation. How was your summer?
About a month ago, I finally got around to painting Little Girlie’s room! If you remember, we’ve been slowly updating it from a nursery to a big girl room. You can read about it here. Since we got new bedding, the pink from her nursery was super overwhelming. Too.many.colors! We decided to paint it a soft blue to compliment the purple she loves so much.
We went with Sherwin-Williams Iceberg, which was one of the Pottery Barn Kids’ paint colors, so we knew it would match the colors in her bedding. It is the prettiest shade of blue! It is brighter than a baby boy nursery blue, but still soft and happy!
We also bought this rug on Amazon. It was really inexpensive for the size! Because we have a floral pattern on the bed, we went with a simple geometric pattern on the floor to balance things out and to keep the patterns from competing. Love it!
We have been planning to get rid of the dresser and to put in some kind of toy storage on this wall. But, after painting and getting rid of her old end table, the dresser doesn’t seem so big and cumbersome anymore. We ended up deciding to keep it for now. I haven’t figured out how to decorate it yet, but that will come in time.
Here’s a before and after of the paint. So much calmer, right? I decided not to hang her gallery back up and will be DIYing something else for that spot. Can’t wait to show you!
Yes, I still need to make a bed skirt to hide the toys… But, that involves sewing. I’m procrastinating on that because I hate sewing. Ha!
What have you all been working on lately? Don’t forget to link up your projects in our weekly link up!
