Wahoo! It feels so good to be back behind the blog! This year has been a doozy so far with unexpected house issues and sicknesses, so despite all the things I’ve been dying to tell you, I haven’t been able to actually get a post up. Sad times!
You may remember, we did a dining room refresh over the summer and added shelves above the buffet table. I had fun decorating them for fall and Christmas, but it was finally time to figure out how to style them for every day. The shelves are in a focal point not just in our dining room, but they are also prominent from our entry way. Because of that, I wanted to make sure that they were pretty, but not at all cluttered. Here’s what I came up with!
I decided to stick with mostly neutrals to keep the visual clutter to a minimum. I stopped in at Kirkland’s to look for decor and just so happened to hit it right when they were clearancing out a bunch of decor and I had a 25% off entire purchase coupon. Score! I had a lot of fun creating vignettes on any surface in the store I could find until I came up with just the right combinations.
The entire top shelf decor is from Kirkland’s and was on sale or clearance! I love the white + soft wood tones together and the scalloped detail on the frame gives me all the heart eyes!
This house frame is one of my favorite finds! I have a thing for anything house shaped, so it had me at hello. Sorry for the funky blurring on my kids’ faces. Gotta keep them safe from internet creepers. 😉
This combo is my other favorite part! I am obsessed with the footed bowl filled with lambs ear! I had the stems on hand already and found the bowl at Target. The pitcher is Kirkland’s clearance and was dirt cheap! I found some pretty textural wood grain scrapbook paper at Michael’s to cover a couple small books with and love how it plays with the other wood tones on the shelves!
Overall, I’m really happy with how the shelves turned out and love how calm and clean they look!
Be back soon with some organization updates and the long awaited for master bathroom reveal! Ahhhh!
