I’m back this week to share another area of our home for the Summer Showcase with my blogging friends! This week, we are giving you a tour of the bedrooms! Be sure to check out all the gorgeous bedrooms at the bottom of the post!
I’m sharing an updated tour of my kids’ rooms! I realized it has been a long time since I shared Little Girlie’s room with you all, so we’ll start there! Come on in! ๐
We are nearing the finish line with Little Girlie’s room! It’s on the list of rooms to finish for future 10 Percent Projects. It’sย thatย close! ๐ย
One of the items on the to-do list has been to come up with some type of bed skirt to hide the toys stored under the bed. That has been quite the debacle with the way the bed is made, so in the meantime, I reused Little Girlie’s old curtains as a makeshift bed skirt!ย As you can see, I had to piece it together in an awkward spot, but hey, it looks way better than without a bed skirt at all. ๐
The biggest thing I’ve done to her room this year is make these flowers! We are all still in love with how they turned out! Find the full tutorial here!
Turning to the other side of the room, you’ll spot one of my favorite features, her dollhouse!
I am in LOVE with the Hearth and Hand dollhouse! I had a white two story dollhouse with a black roof as a kid and have saved it all these years for my daughter. Unfortunately, all those years in the attic warped the wood and it was not salvageable. I was heart broken, as we were going to give it to Little Girlie for her fourth birthday. Thankfully, Chip and Joanna came out with this beauty just in time! I love that it’s the same colors as my dollhouse was… and that it’s not dilapidated. Although, Little Girlie might have seen it and considered it a fixer upper and wanted to call Joanna Gaines for help remodeling. Hahaha!
Looking back toward the door, you’ll see where her little kitchen landed after the playroom remodel. She still loves this kitchen and uses it every day. If only she could take over the cooking for real… See how I painted the kitchen here!
Above the kitchen, we hung this little shelf for artwork. The print is from one of my favorite artists, Pen and Paint. I love what it says! The painting is actually one I did for my grandma for her first birthday in the nursing home. I wanted her to have something bright and cheery for her room. It’s so bittersweet to see it hanging in Little Girlie’s room now, but I cherish the memories it brings.ย
Moving on to Little Man’s room… My long time readers will remember this room from a couple years ago. Honestly, it has hardly changed a bit! He still LOVES his Star Wars room! But, for any new readers who haven’t seen it yet, come in for a tour!
We completed this Star Wars room as a surprise for our then five year old son. We didn’t let him see anything we were working on, then revealed it to him with the Star Wars theme song blasting in the back ground. His reaction was worth every bit of hard work and sweat! See the full reveal here!
ย
Jeremy and I built this upholstered bench for him to store toys in and to be able to sit and read and look out the window. He and Little Girlie love to sit here and bird watch. It’s adorable!
My favorite embroidery guru, ZigZagz Embroidery, and I designed these pillows for the bench. Get all the details here!ย
The biggest impact, though, was the ceiling with all the star decals! Little Man has not tired of laying in bed and staring at the stars! ๐ Find all the deals here!ย
I hope you all enjoyed the tour! Be sure to check out all of the inspiring spaces linked below!ย
