Hey, Friends! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!
If you keep up with me on Instagram, you might have heard that we had a kitchen leak which warped our wood floors. The floors will be refinished next week, so we’ve been organizing all the things and packing up our entire house, getting ready to move out so the flooring people can do their thing. I thought I’d show you some of my recent organizing projects! Today, I thought I’d show you the wrapping paper storage!
I have really struggled with where to store wrapping paper in this house. It started off in the playroom closet, then in more recent years, has been stored in our coat closet. Our coat closet is the teeny tiniest little closet in all of history, though, so we just couldn’t afford to lose all the space the wrapping supplies were taking up anymore. I started hunting for solutions and kept finding this over the door storage system from The Container Store. It’s really nice, however, I’m way too cheap to spend $123 on a door rack. After much brainstorming and shopping around, I came up with a similar solution that was a third of the price!
I found this pantry door organizer (I found what appears to be the identical thing for cheaper here!) and realized that if I positioned the shelves and holders just right, it could serve as a wrapping paper holder. Our closet doors downstairs are mostly bi-fold or are super skinny, so I decided to mount it on the inside of our master bedroom closet door since it’s a standard sized door. It works out well and is actually the perfect location to wrap presents away from prying, sneaky kid eyes. Haha!
I mounted one of the deep shelves at the very bottom with a support about halfway up for the wrapping paper rolls. I had to fiddle with the placement of the support until it was high enough up to keep the rolls in place, but low enough that I could still get the rolls out. Geez, sounds like I’m talking about yoga pants… 😉
I mounted a couple of the shallower baskets at the top for bows, tape, bags, tags, etc. I love how easy it is to access everything!
I keep gift boxes, big things of tissue paper, and Christmas bags/bows in the bottom drawer of my dresser that sits just inside the closet door. I usually only need access to those at Christmas time, so it’s nice to have them tucked away throughout the rest of the year and just have out what we need on a more frequent basis.
That’s it– our super simple, budget friendly wrapping paper organizer! And, a sneak peek of our master bedroom makeover! 😉
I’ll be back with some linen closet organization for you all next! I’m saving the master bedroom reveal until the floors are done. I think the new floor color will make a huge difference! Hope you all have a great week!
