I am absolutely THRILLED to finally be sharing our kitchen phase one reveal with you all! For the first phase, our goal was to paint everything in sight. Painting is such a budget friendly way to transform a space! We will be doing the more expensive updates in phase two–more on that later!
It took me about two weeks, but I finally conquered painting our cabinets white. I’ve wanted to paint them white since we moved in 8 years ago, so you can just imagine my excitement to finally see it realized!!!
I’m just sharing the reveal today, but will be back next week with all of the details on how I painted the cabinets, so be on the lookout for that! I also documented the entire process on Insta stories, so be sure to check out my kitchen highlight bubble there!
Before we get too far into the reveal pictures, I have to jog your memory of what the kitchen looked like before…
And now!
All I did was paint the cabinets white and paint the walls gray! Isn’t that crazy?! Here’s another before after for you…
Insane, right?! I can’t get over how much brighter and cleaner it looks in here!
The counters and backsplash will go during phase 2, but for now, the gray wall paint really helps tone them down a bit.
I realized I rarely show this side of the kitchen, but this is where the fridge and the “pantry” cabinet live. You can see how I organized the pantry cabinet here!
And, of course, I have to include a couple detail shots for you. 😉 The cabinets are not perfect, but overall, I’m super happy with how the paint leveled and the coverage I was able to achieve!
Here you can see the sheen of the paint. I went with a satin finish and I love the subtle shine.
I love how much better the white cabinets flow with the rest of our house! The kitchen used to be this jarring difference compared to the living room and dining room.
Here’s another angle I rarely show, mainly because that wall used to have a high row of coat hooks that always looked like a mess. It’s so much cleaner and less cluttered without the hooks. I’ve contemplated hanging a mirror or something on that wall, but for now, I’m just enjoying the blank space.
Finally, I want to show you how the new wall paint (Gray Owl mixed in Sherwin-Williams paint) turned out in the breakfast nook! I could not get a good picture with my big camera for the life of me, so these are phone shots. I’m sorry in advance. 😉 See the breakfast nook just beyond the bar?
This room has the most amazing windows and natural light! Now, with the freshly painted walls, it’s one of my favorite spaces!
Crazy what a couple cans of paint can do, right?! Happy Weekend, Friends!
