Hey, Friends! Hope you all are having a great week so far!
I’m excited to share our updated hallway with you guys! It’s been a slow process, but we’ve finally banished the 90’s from the hallway and brought it up to date!
But before I get too carried away, I have to remind you where it started! If you remember, years ago, I painted the stairwell and hallway Gray Owl (lightened to 75%)…
and hung an eclectic gallery wall. Ah, memories! I loved this gallery wall and it was my first viral post!
But, let’s zoom in to the eye sores you might have missed.
Oh man, that lighting fixture! Those shiny door knobs! The yellowy orange floors!
Now that you have those images in your brain, look how much better it’s looking now!
The paint is the same, but the floors have been refinished, I changed the hinges and doorknobs out for oil rubbed bronze, hung a new light, changed the artwork around, and added a rug. So much brighter and cleaner looking, right?!
I love a good grid gallery wall and was inspired by Mallory Nikolaus’ gallery wall in her last house, so decided to go with a similar look. The new gallery gives us a good amount of places to display family photos while still looking clean and crisp. I love how the black frames look with the rail and the new black door knobs!
I moved the painting my Grandma did for Jeremy and I over to the wall as you come up the stairs. It’s a great focal point!
The ceiling still needs to be painted, but we will ignore that for today, ok? Our secret. 😉
Here’s a before and after from when we first moved in until today. It’s ridiculous how excited an updated hallway can make me!
Even the progress to finished before and after is a crazy huge improvement!
Here’s to the power of paint and new hardware!
